5 killed, 27 injured in bus crash in northwestern Myanmar
YANGON, March 18 (Xinhua) -- At least five people were killed and 27 others were injured in a pilgrimage bus crash on early Monday in Kani township, Myanmar's Sagaing region, according to Sagaing region police force.
The express bus carrying 40 pilgrims to Alaungdaw Lathapa pagoda plunged into a 60-meter-deep ravine while losing control at 6:00 a.m. local time and rolled down a hilly road, killing five and injuring 27.
The injured were sent to a nearby hospital by local police and social welfare association members who rushed to the scene at the first timing.
