APD | Philippine FM Locsin call on Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan

MANILA,March.20(APD) – Philippine Foreign Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. called on Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan in Beijing Tuesday, March 19 to begin his first official trip to China.
In a press statement released shortly before midnight, the DFA said Vice President Wang reaffirmed China’s commitment to further strengthen bilateral relations with the Philippines through cooperation for common development according to mutual understanding and mutual trust.
The Vice President, a stalwart of the Chinese Communist Party, recalled the history of China’s development and emergence into an economic powerhouse.
Secretary Locsin expressed his appreciation for the hard work, perseverance and talent of the Chinese people, which according to him, are the foundation of China’s phenomenal economic progress.
Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea and the country’s economic managers led by Finance Secretary Carlos G. Dominguez III joined Secretary Locsin during the meeting. They economic team are scheduled to do a Philippine Economic Briefing in Beijing.
The economic managers informed Vice President Wang on the status of the Philippines-China infrastructure cooperation.
