APD | Philippine Foreign Secretary Locsin to Visit China

MANILA, Mar.14(APD) – The Department of Foreign Affairs today said Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. will undertake an official visit to the People’s Republic of China from March 18 to 21, 2019 upon the invitation of State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

This is Secretary Locsin’s first visit as the Philippines’ top diplomat.

Secretary Locsin and Foreign Minister Wang Yi will hold a bilateral meeting to discuss ways to strengthen the existing friendly relations between the Philippines and China “in the spirit of mutual respect and through enhanced functional cooperation.”

“Beyond mutual benefit across the broad scope of bilateral engagement, both Ministers will also discuss ways to advance the larger goal of bringing about peace and prosperity in the region,” the DFA statement concluded.
