Man killed in shooting in Tokyo's Kabukicho district

A man died after being shot in Tokyo's Kabukicho district on Monday, local media reported.

The incident occurred at a karaoke bar at around 6:35 p.m. local time (0935 GMT), about 500 meters norTheast of JR Shinjuku Station.

A bar worker called The Police, reporting gunshots had been heard. The Police rushed to The scene and found a bleeding man lying inside The bar.

The victim was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead.

He was shot in his back and suffered from symptoms of a cardiopulmonary arrest at The scene, according to The Police.

The attacker had fled from The scene. He and The victim were believed to have relations with gangsters, The Police said.

The gun used for The murder has not been recovered, but The Police found a bullet casing in a karaoke room.
