Xi Jinping tours Beijing Expo with foreign leaders
Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan made a tour of the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition with foreign leaders and their spouses on Sunday.
In the evening, Xi and his wife met with the couples at the expo's China Pavilion. They proceeded to watch the themed film of the exhibition and took a group photo in front of the themed wall.
Later, they explored the exhibition at the China Pavilion and the comprehensive exhibition area of participating countries, enjoying the view of unique plants and fine gardening.
Xi said that the China Pavilion reflects rich cultures from different regions, tells the story of beautiful gardening, and brings together the achievements of China's ecological civilization construction. It not only allows people to appreciate gardening, but also reflects China's and the world's pursuit of living green.
They also visited the gardens of Cambodia, the Czech Republic, Djibouti, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Japan, Singapore and Tajikistan in the international horticulture zone, and attended a tree-planting ceremony.
The foreign leaders praised the achievements of China's ecological civilization construction and the craftsmanship of the gardeners, and expressed their hope to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China and to jointly build a colorful and beautiful home.
