Sri Lankan president tells police chief, defense secretary to resign

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena has asked his Police Chief, Pujith Jayasundara and Defense Secretary Hemasiri Fernando to resign following severe security lapses which led to Sunday's explosions, an official close to the president told Xinhua on Wednesday.
