Recruitment tour draws talent to Chengdu Hi-Tech Zone

A large number of talents is attracted to the "Tianfu Talent Recruitment 2019" city tour that was held in Shanghai on March 23. 

A large-scale group recruitment tour sponsored by Chengdu Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (CDHT), targeting middle and senior-level talent in China's major cities, has came to an end yielding positive results.

The "Tianfu Talent Recruitment 2019" was organized by the Party and mass work department of CDHT and Chengdu Tianfu Software Park, and consisted of three branches: the City Tour, Campus Tour, and Overseas Tour.

Since March 9, the City Tour was held in Shenzhen, Chongqing, Shanghai, and Beijing, offering 150 job positions. A total of more than 2,000 professionals attended the recruitment fair, receiving over 500 job offers.

The Campus Tour, which is still on-going, has been held in more than 10 famous universities including Tsinghua University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, University of Science and Technology of China, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and Sichuan University.

According to a survey of the recruiting enterprises participating in the Campus Tour, the demand for campus recruitment has increased significantly, especially in emerging fields such as big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality.

As a result, an innovative adjustment was made to this year's "Campus Tour" by recruiting junior students of emerging engineering majors for internship.

The first batch of internship offers came from 31 renowned companies in Chengdu, such as Tencent Technology (Chengdu) Co Ltd, XW Bank, Tap4fun, Business Big Data Technology Ltd, and Chengdu Spaceon Technology Co Ltd.

"The demand for talents in emerging engineering is very high," said Hong Lei, head of the student affairs office of the School of Information and Software Engineering, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.

He said there are about 700 third-year students in the School of Information and Software Engineering this year, and nearly 300 of them have found internship positions through the "Tianfu Talent Recruitment." In addition, nearly 200 graduating students have received job offers through the recruitment.

The Overseas Tour of the "Tianfu Talent Recruitment" is scheduled to be launched in the latter half of the year. Through this activity, companies in the CDHT are scheduled to recruit talent in the United States and Japan this year.

In previous years, the Overseas Tour has been held in regions including North America, Europe, and Asia. In addition, overseas talent workstations were established in Silicon Valley, Seoul, Frankfurt, Stockholm, and Toronto during past tours.
