NEW DELHI, Apri. 7(APD)- NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) has decided to resume its cooperation with ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) after a brief phase of suspension of their partnership.

According to reports NASA changed its mind after intervention from the White House.  The space agency had decided to end its partnership with ISRO after India’s anti-satellite (A-SAT) missile test on March 27.

After India’s test, NASA chief had shared his reservations about it, saying that the test had created debris in space, which could prove harmful to astronauts and could harm the International Space Station (ISS).

On Thursday, through a message Jim Bridenstine from NASA informed ISRO chairman K Sivan that, “As part of our partnership with you, we will continue to work on issues using the NASA-ISRO Human Space Flights Working Group, Planetary Science Working Group, US-India Earth Science Working Group and the Heliophysics Working Group.”

He added that he had changed his mind because of the White House’s intervention explaining, “Based on guidance received from the White House, I look forward to continuing these groups in the future.”

Meanwhile India has maintained that it had taken note and been cautious about not creating debris in space. Scientists have insisted that the debris would destroy themselves soon.
