Spanish stock market up 1.10 pct

MADRID, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Spanish share values rose by 1.10 percent on Monday with the benchmark stock market index Ibex-35 opening on 9.240,30 points and closing on 9,341.70 points.

A total of 27 of the 35 companies trading on the Ibex-35 made gains on Monday.

The day's best performing companies were steel producer Areclormittal with a 5.49 percent rise in share values followed by the savings banks Caixabank and BBVA, up 4.63 and 4.18 percent respectively.

Monday's worst performers were energy company Energas, which suffered a 1.31 percent drop in share prices. Red Electrica Corporacion fell 1.13 percent while the international airline group IAG lost 0.81 percent. Enditem
