Sudanese president names new ministers
KHARTOUM, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on Monday issued a decree appointing new ministers and state ministers, a statement by the Sudanese presidency said.
Siddiq Mohamed Amer was named as minister of Federal Government Bureau, Rawda Al-Haj Mohamed as minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities and Abu Huraira Hussein Ali as minister of Youths and Sports.
Muawiya Osman Khalid was appointed as state minister at the Foreign Ministry, Ali Omer Al-Shareef Yousif Al-Hindi as state minister at the Justice Ministry, Al-Sadiq Mohamed Ali Hassab al-Rasoul as state minister at the Finance Ministry and Ahmed Ali Musa as state minister at the Industry and Trade Ministry.
On March 13, al-Bashir issued a decree forming a new government of 21 federal ministers.
Later, minister of Federal Government Bureau, Barakat Musa al-Hawati, and minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Al-Samawal Khalafalla, refused the ministerial posts.
On Feb. 22, al-Bashir declared state of emergency all over Sudan and dissolved the central and state governments in the wake of popular protests the country that erupted in December last year over deteriorating economic conditions and price hikes of basic commodities.
