Indian markets close higher

MUMBAI, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Indian markets closed higher on Monday with the Sensex touching a record high of 39,115.57 during the day.

Except bank and FMCG, all other sectorial indices ended in green led by metal, IT, infra, auto and pharma.

The benchmark SP, BSE Sensex closed at 38,837.18, up 164.27 points, or 0.42 percent, compared to its previous close at 38,672.91.
