5 Lebanese soldiers wounded by strong storm
BEIRUT, March 31 (Xinhua) -- At least five members of the Lebanese army were injured on Sunday when a powerful wind hit their position at the Naqoura point in southern Lebanon.
A source from the security forces told Xinhua that the five soldiers were slightly injured after a very strong storm and heavy rains destroyed a small wooden room the soldiers were using as a shelter.
Ambulances transported the wounded soldiers to a hospital in southern Lebanon, the source added.
A strong storm hit Lebanon two days ago with heavy rains, snow, and wind with a speed of over 90 km per hour.
The storm caused floods and damage to a number of areas, including some Syrian refugee camps.
