Iran police issues "serious" travel alert over floods
TEHRAN, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Iran's traffic police on Friday issued a "serious" alert asking people to avoid taking trips in the coming Days, Tasnim news agency reported.
Rain and snow will wrap up the country for three Days from March 30, Police Commander Nader Rahmani was quoted as saying.
"We strongly advise people to avoid travelling on Sunday and Monday, particularly to the southern, western and southwestern provinces," Rahmani said.
It is likely that the drivers will be caught up by the overflow of rivers, flooding and avalanches, he added.
Over the past Days, flash floods and landslides claimed at least 44 lives and injured 265 others across Iran.
