Japan's industrial output rises 1.4 pct on month in February
TOKYO, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Japan's factory output rose in February from a month earlier, the government said in a report on Friday.
According to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, industrial output here increased 1.4 percent in February, following a revised 3.4 percent decline in January.
The ministry also said in its preliminary report that the seasonally adjusted index of output at factories and mines stood at 100.8 against the 2015 base of 100.
The index of industrial shipments rose 1.8 percent to 101.6. Inventories, meanwhile, were up 0.5 percent to 102.2 in the recording period, the ministry said.
Manufacturers surveyed by the ministry said that looking ahead they expect factory output to rise 1.3 percent in March and increase 1.1 percent in April.
