Leaders sign eleven agreements to strengthen economic ties
Kenya industry leaders from various departments came together for the China, Hunan – Kenya economic and trade cooperation Conference held in the capital Nairobi.
During the Conference leaders signed eleven agreements in various sector key among them agriculture, technology and infrastructure.
The long-standing relations between China and Africa was established by leaders from both countries with a call to strengthen the multi layered cooperation for mutual benefit.
Raphel Tuju, Secretary General of Jubilee Party lauded the move saying, “This is a good example where two countries get to trade and thereby have mutual benefit.”
The expo was launched under the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
Hunan's trade volume with African countries totaled 2.8 billion U.S. dollars in 2018, surging over 50 percent for the fourth straight year. Contracted investment by Hunan firms in Africa amounted to nearly 1 billion dollars.
Governor of Hunan Province, Xu Dazhe also praised the relation saying, “Two markets and two resourceful nations will now be open to each other and deepen cooperation in various areas of business.”
The aim of the China, Hunan – Kenya economic and trade cooperation Conference was to encourage Chinese companies to increase their investments in Africa.
