Polish official says Poland should support British PM

WARSAW, March 28 (Xinhua) -- Konrad Szymanski, Polish secretary of state for European affairs, said on Thursday that Poland should support British Prime Minister Theresa May and "do everything to help get the Brexit deal ratified".

"The only chance for ratification is to support Prime Minister May in her heroic battle for this deal -- she is also fighting for us," added Szymanski who was speaking to Polish broadcaster TVN24.

"A hard Brexit means enormous damages for everyone," Szymanski said.

The secretary of state said Poland was in favour of EU actions which are "not confrontational" and give Britain as much time as possible so that the British Parliament "definies its opinion" and an orderly exit from the EU is possible.
