SEOUL, March 28 (Xinhua) -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in's approval rating slightly fell this week on emerging controversy over minister nominees during the parliamentary confirmation hearing, a weekly poll showed Thursday.

According to the Realmeter poll, support for Moon shed 0.8 percentage points from over the week to 46.3 percent this week.

Negative assessment on Moon's management of state affairs rose 1 percentage point to 48.2 percent.

It came as controversy surfaced over some of minister nominees during the confirmation hearing at the parliament.

Moon nominated seven new ministers earlier this month, including the unification minister in charge of inter-Korean relations.

Moon's ruling Democratic Party kept its top post with 37.8 percent of support score, but it was down 1.1 percentage points from the previous week.

It was followed by the main conservative opposition Liberty Korea Party, of which support lost 0.5 percentage point to 30.8 percent.

Both the minor progressive Justice Party and the minor conservative Bareun Future Party won 6.6 percent of support, while the center-left Party for Democracy and Peace won 2.9 percent in support.

The results were based on a survey of 1,514 voters conducted from Monday to Wednesday. It had plus and minus 2.5 percentage points in the margin of error with a 95 percent confidence level.
