Honeywell fully supports building a beautiful China
China has pledged to coordinate its efforts of environmental protection and economic development in 2019.Manycompanies,like Honeywell, giveall-out supporttoChina's effortin terms ofimproving the environment and building a more beautiful China, according to William Yu, president of Honeywell China.
"As a company, we fully support China's effort toimprove the environmentand build a beautiful China. Withinthe last 15years,wecontributea lot todeveloping technologies.Thisis not onlygood for companieslike us but alsogood forpeople who live in the area," Yu said.
Yu listed some of thelatestcutting-edge ways tocombat pollutioncaused by buildings, petrochemicals andrefrigerants while at the same time maintainingliving standards.
"Data showedthat40percentof the energy in the worldwasconsumed by the buildings. And over 20percentof greenhouse gaswasemission from the building. Now building an intelligent system which is connectedto the Internet of Things and big data can dramatically reduce energy emission," he explained.
Yu said that along withimprovingliving standard, peoplebuymoreconsumer goods like clothing andelectronicproduct,and choose largerapartments.
"All need petrochemical products," he noted,detailing that there is new technology to help create products in the petrochemical industry without damaging the environment.He added that leading refrigeranttechnologiesfor air-conditioner in cars could be crucial toeasingglobal warm.
Some companieshesitatedto buy advanced and environmental-friendly technologies due to the cost.He outlined three suggestions forgovernmentstobetter coordinate with the private sector in this regard.
Yu emphasized that central and local governments should introduce stricter environmental-friendly regulations to push companies to go green. Then they should think about how to promise theexecutionof regulations.Moreover,Yu advised governments to work with experienced companies to improve management andensure the implementationof the regulations.
