M5 earthquake jolts Mangya, NW China

A magnitude-five earthquake jolted Mangya City of northwest CHINA's Qinghai Province on Thursday morning, according to the CHINA earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

The quake was detected at around 5:36 a.m. BJT (2106GMT Wednesday) at a depth of nine kilometers.

Strong tremors were also felt in its adjoining areas.
