U.S. remains top donor for Ukraine in 2018
The United States remained the top financial donor for Ukraine in 2018, allocating more than 2 billion U.S. dollars for 124 projects, Ukraine's Economic Development and Trade Ministry said in a report on Tuesday.
Last year, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development was the second-largest contributor to the Ukrainian economy with the financial injections of 759.7 million dollars, followed by the European Union with 522.3 million dollars.
Overall, in 2018, a total of 618 projects worth 6.6 billion dollars have been implemented in Ukraine with the help of international donors.
Ukraine used most of the funds granted by the foreign funders for carrying out projects in such areas as national security and defense, nuclear energy, state management and civil society.
