BEIRUT, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah on Tuesday urged Arabs to continue resisting Israel's violations and aggression in the region, in response to the U.S. recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Golan Heights.

"The only way for the Syrians to restore their authority over the Golan Heights, and for the Lebanese to regain Shabaa farms, Kfar Shuba hills and Ghajar village in addition to retaining full rights in their oil, gas and water resources, and for the Palestinians to get their full rights is through resistance," Nasrallah said in a televised speech on Al Manar TV.

Nasrallah said that it has become obvious that U.S. President Donald Trump, who signed a declaration recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, does not recognize or respect the role of the United Nations and any international resolutions, or even the UN Security Council itself.

He said that Trump's move proves that international organizations are incapable of protecting the nations' rights.

"Countries all over the world, even those that are allied with the U.S., believe that the Golan is an Arab Syrian territory occupied by Israel," Nasrallah said.

He said that the Arab reaction to Trump's move should be to withdraw the Arab Peace Initiative during the Arab League Summit which will take place later this month in Tunisia.

"This is the least that Arab leaders can do if they still have any dignity at all," he said.

The Arab Peace Initiative is a proposal for an end to the Arab-Israeli conflict which was endorsed by the Arab League in 2002 at the Beirut Summit.

Nasrallah refuted U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's speech during his recent visit in Lebanon, which accused Hezbollah of preventing the Lebanese from living their dreams by threatening the country's internal stability.

"Pompeo attacked Hezbollah while he did not mention the Israeli's invasion of Lebanon and its crimes in Lebanon's Al Khiyam and Ansar and in Palestine. He did not mention either Israel's violations of Lebanon's sovereignty every day or Israel's threats to destroy Lebanon and preventing the country from benefiting from its oil and gas resources," the Hezbollah leader said.

Nasrallah said that the Lebanese people's dream is to regain their occupied territories and to live in peace and prosperity, and Hezbollah is working on reaching these goals.

"It is Israel that is preventing the Lebanese people from reaching their goals," he said.

He added that Hezbollah has huge military power but it never uses it to threaten Lebanon's internal stability.
