Symposium held to commemorate late senior political advisor

BEIJING, March 26 (Xinhua) -- A symposium was held in Beijing Tuesday to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of late senior political advisor Wan Guoquan.

Wang Yang, a member of the Standing committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central committee and CHAIRMAN of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National committee, attended the symposium and met Wan's family prior to the event.

Wan served as vice CHAIRMAN of the eighth and ninth CPPCC National committee. He was also vice CHAIRMAN, executive vice CHAIRMAN and honorary vice CHAIRMAN of the Central committee of the China National Democratic Construction Association.

You Quan, a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central committee and head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central committee, called on officials to learn from Wan's adherence to truth, his patriotism and his dedication to the cause of multi-party cooperation.
