Singaporean stocks close 0.55 pct higher
SINGAPORE, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.55 percent, or 17.36 points, to close at 3,200.28.
A total of 1.05 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1 billion Singapore dollars (about 740.29 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 242 to 165.
The STI index went down 0.91 percent, or 29.18 points, to close at 3,182.92 on Monday.
