Spain coach Luis Enrique to miss Euro 2020 qualifier in Malta
MADRID, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Spain coach Luis Enrique will not be in the dugout to direct his side's Euro 2020 qualifying game in Malta on Tuesday evening, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has confirmed.
The RFEF posted a tweet explaining the coach will be absent "for family reasons."
The RFEF message reads that "we wish to inform of the absence of our national team coach Luis Enrique in the game which will be played this evening due to family reasons caused by force majeure (reasons out of our control). We ask for discretion and for his privacy to be respected."
Enrique's absence means that his assistant, Robert Moreno, will be in charge from the dugout. The 41-year-old has worked with Enrique at Roma, Celta Vigo and FC Barcelona and last season returned to Celta as the assistant for Juan Carlos Unzue.
