NEW DELHI, Mar. 25 (APD) -- India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Pakistan’s Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry recently got involved in a war of words on social media.
The forced conversion and marriage of two Hindu girls became the topic under discussion. A debate ensued when Swaraj asked for details of the incident from the Indian envoy in Pakistan.
Through twitter she also asked the Indian High Commissioner in Pakistan to send her a report on the case.
Pakistan’s Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry did not take it well and responded to her tweet, stressing that the case was an “internal issue”.
He also informed that the prime minister had ordered the concerned provincial governments to work on a joint action plan and ensure that such episodes do not occur again.
According to reports, two Hindu girls, Raveena aged 13 and Reena, 15, were abducted from the province of Sindh and married to Muslim men.
Meanwhile, Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, a Hindu lawmaker in Pakistan has presented a resolution to the members of the National Assembly to end forced conversions.
