Barty blitzes Stosur in all-Australian third round clash in Miami Open
WASHINGTON, March 23 (Xinhua) -- Ashleigh Barty came out on top in an all-Aussie clash against Samantha Stosur to reach the fourth round of the Miami Open on Saturday.
Barty needed just 58 minutes to dispatch her veteran compatriot, 6-0, 6-3 to move into the round of 16.
Stosur was a 6-4, 6-4 victory against Barty who was 12 years her junior in Miami two years ago, but on Saturday, the match was all in Barty's favor from first ball.
The world No. 11 didn't face a break point in the opening set and broke Stosur three times. In the second set, Stosur managed to break her oppoent once but she could not maintain her momentum.
