Norway's Boe snatches record-tying 14th win of season in biathlon World Cup
OSLO, March 22 (Xinhua) -- Norway's Johannes Thingnes Boe continued his dominant season by triumphing in men's 10km sprint competition of biathlon World Cup in front of home crowds on Friday.
It was a record-tying 14th victory of the season for Boe, moving him level with Frenchman Martin Fourcade in terms of wins in a single season.
The reigning world champion had already bagged the overall and sprint globes when he stepped on the home court at Holmenkollen, Oslo.
Boe achieved the feat in 24 minutes and 39.9 seconds despite missing one target in shooting.
"Winning here at Holmenkollen is one of the best wins of the season. Even though it is the end of the season, my wish to do good races and the motivation is still there," Boe told the International Biathlon Union (IBU) website.
Lukas Hofer of Italy sat second at 31.7 seconds. The third position went to France's Quentin Fillon Maillet, bronze medalist at the worlds.
Men's and women's pursuit races of the season finale are scheduled on Saturday.
