World number one Osaka into third round at Miami Open
WASHINGTON, March 22 (Xinhua) -- World number one Naomi Osaka of Japan made her way into the third round of the Miami Open as she overcame qualifier Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium 6-0, 6-7(3), 6-1 on Friday.
Osaka was on fire at the start of the match, using just 22 minutes to take the first SET. However, the second SET was locked in a dogfight with seven of its 12 games going to deuce. In the tiebreak, Wickmayer played some solid game and took big points before securing the victory. Facing sterner resistance, the world number one also found her unforced errors suddenly mount by totalling 24 in the SET.
