New Zealand's GDP grows 0.6 pct in December 2018 quarter

"Growth in this quarter was led by the service industries, contributing a 0.9 news.cn/en/tag/i0xngaj3163f76200c981b/index.html" target="_blank">news.cn/en/tag/i0xjgcj290bfc88f21a2d9/index.html" target="_blank">percent rise," said Stats NZ senior manager Gary Dunnet, adding that the goods-producing industries grew 0.2 news.cn/en/tag/i0xngaj3163f76200c981b/index.html" target="_blank">news.cn/en/tag/i0xjgcj290bfc88f21a2d9/index.html" target="_blank">percent.
States NZ recorded 10 of the 16 industries with increases, leaving a mixed growth among industries.
Transport, postal and warehousing (up 3.2 news.cn/en/tag/i0xngaj3163f76200c981b/index.html" target="_blank">news.cn/en/tag/i0xjgcj290bfc88f21a2d9/index.html" target="_blank">percent) led the service industries along with retail and accommodation (up 2.5 news.cn/en/tag/i0xngaj3163f76200c981b/index.html" target="_blank">news.cn/en/tag/i0xjgcj290bfc88f21a2d9/index.html" target="_blank">percent), while primary industries struggled across the board.
"Reduced livestock production had an impact on agriculture, while mining activity was still on its way from a partial recovery last quarter," Dunnet said.
