German shares lose 1.57 pct Wednesday
FRANKFURT, March 20 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 184.52 points, or 1.57 percent, to close at 11,603.89 points.
Multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer lost the most among the blue chips, down by 9.61 percent, followed by automotive manufacturer BMW and global internet technology and financial services provider Wirecard, which lost 4.94 percent and 3.60 percent respectively.
European health care company Fresenius SE, personal-care company Beiersdorf and energy group E.ON were the top three winners, rising 1.41 percent, 1.40 percent and 1.36 percent respectively.
Bayer was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 920.1 million euros (1.04 billion U.S. dollars). Enditem
