SEOUL, March 20 (Xinhua) -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Wednesday met with the visiting U.S. director of national intelligence to discuss the pending issues of the two countries, according to the presidential Blue house.

Blue house spokesman Kim Eui-kyum said President Moon and U.S. Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats exchanged broad and in-depth opinions about the pending issues of the two allies, the spokesman said in a short statement.

According to local media reports, Coats arrived in Seoul Tuesday night to meet senior South Korean officials, including his South Korean counterpart Suh Hoon, chief the National Intelligence Service (NIS).

Coats' visit came after the second summit between top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un and U.S. President Donald Trump ended without agreement in the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi in late February.
