Algeria suspends Boeing 737 Max planes after tragic Ethiopian Airlines crash
ALGIERS, March 19 (Xinhua) -- Algeria on Tuesday decided to suspend the operation of all flights of Boeing 737 MAX over its airspace.
The Ministry of Public Works and Transport said in a statement that the suspension was decided by the Algerian civil aviation authority "in accordance with the principle of precaution" following the crash of a Boeing 737 Max 8 plane operated by Ethiopian Airlines.
On March 10, the Ethiopian Airlines flight crashed shortly after taking off from Addis Ababa, killing all 157 aboard.
