Canada hands over 56 vehicles to Ukrainian armed forces
KIEV, March 18 (Xinhua) -- Canada handed over 56 vehicles to the military police of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Canadian Ambassador to Ukraine Roman Waschuk tweeted on Monday.
The aid, which was granted as a part of the Operation UNIFIER, includes minibuses, vans, and SUVs worth 1.2 million U.S. dollars, Waschuk said.
According to him, the donation marks the completion of the comprehensive program on reforming the training system of the Ukrainian military police.
Operation UNIFIER is the Canadian Armed Forces training mission in Ukraine through which Canada provides military training and capacity-building assistance to Ukrainian military forces.
Since the start of the mission in September 2015, more than 10,800 Ukrainian soldiers have been trained within the framework of the Operation UNIFIER as of March 1 this year.
