Chinese Vice Premier urges solid preparing for Winter Olympics
Chinese Vice Premier Han Zheng, also leader of the 24th Winter Olympics work committee, presided over a meeting on Tuesday to study and implement keynote speeches made by President Xi Jinping during inspecting constructions for the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympic Games that will be held in Beijing and neighboring ZHangjiakou City, north China's Hebei Province.
Han stressed the importance of implementing President Xi's keynote speeches throughout the overall process and carrying out excellent preparation work in a solid way.
Han urged to speed up the construction of venues and supporting facilities so that they can be put into use within a good operating system.
Steady progress will also be made in hospitality services, including accommodation, catering, transportation, security, and medical care, Han stressed.
According to the meeting, a series of Winter-related sports competitions, under the motto "Meeting in Beijing," will be held at the venues.
The organizing committee will carry out various promotional initiatives related to the Games, such as the 1,000-day countdown ceremony, collecting Olympics-themed songs and slogans, and creative cultural designs like the mascot.
Preparing work of the Olympics will be carried out in accordance with the coordinated development of the Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei region.
