Forced change for Spain coach Luis Enrique: Fabian out, Saul in
MADRID, March 19 (Xinhua) -- Spain coach Luis Enrique has been forced into making a change for his squad for the forthcoming Euro 2020 qualifying matches against Norway and Malta.
Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz has been forced to withdraw after arriving at the training camp suffering from a fever which had kept him out of his side's win over Udinese at the weekend.
Luis Enrique has replaced him with Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez, who was a surprise omission from the original list of 23 players named on Friday.
The squad held its first training session on Monday evening with all players participating apart from Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio, who instead focused on gym work at the Spanish Football Federation's (RFEF) Las Rozas facility.
