APD | Philippine Secretary Lorenzana visits Vietnamese Defense Ministry

MANILA, Mar.18 (APD) – The Department of National Defense said today Secretary Delfin N. Lorenzana made an official visit to the Minister of Defense of Vietnam from March 10-13,2019.  

In a statement released today, the Defense Department said Secretary Lorenzana met with General Ngo Xuan Lich, Minister of National Defense and conducted a bilateral meeting.

“The defense chiefs exchanged views and perspectives on the threats posed by terrorism and violent extremism, non-traditional security concerns and maritime security challenges,” the statement revealed.

They also talked about the existing defense relations and “explored areas to further advance their bilateral cooperation.

Secretary Lorenzana was welcomed by his Vietnamese counterpart General Ngo Xuan Lich along with the other officials of the Ministry of Defense.
