Morocco's Wydad beat South Africa's Sundowns, both into African Champions League quarters
RABAT, March 16 (Xinhua)-- Morocco's Wydad Casablanca on Saturday beat Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa 1-0 and both entered the quarterfinals of the African Champions League.
At Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, Wydad dominated the first half, but squandered many chances.
In a more balanced second half, Wydad defender Mohamed Nahiri scored the winner in the 62nd minute.
After this last match of the group stage, Wydad topped Group A with 10 points, followed by Sundowns with the same points but inferior in goal difference.
Wydad, holders of the 1992 and 2017 tittles, qualified for the fourth time in a row to the quarterfinals. Enditem
