Police investigate suspected child abuse involving Chiefs' Tyreek Hill
Tyreek Hill, nicknamed "Cheetah", a star receiver for the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs, is in trouble as the Overland Park Police Department launched a child abuse case at Hill's home.
According to published police reports, Hill was involved in separate incidents on March 5 and 14. Both Hill and his fiancé Crystal Espinal had their names on the report of the first incident which cited “child abuse/neglect”. The police did not file charges and thus this case was closed three days later. The second incident cited "battery" and did not mention Hill, but listed Hill's home as the location.
The Chiefs soon responded to the report on Friday by sending a statement to KCTV5 News: "The club is aware of the investigation involving Tyreek Hill. We are in the process of gathering information and have been in contact with the league and local authorities. We will have no further comment at this time."
Hill's agent refused to comment on the news. Neither did the league respond to the request for commenting.

A spokesman at the Overland Park Police Department said that the March 14 case referred to the Johnson County district attorney's office in Kansas.
This was not the first time Hill has been involved in domestic violence. Back in 2014, before he entered the NFL, Hill was arrested on domestic violence charges at Oklahoma State University. He pleaded guilty to abusing and choking Espinal, who was pregnant at the time and received a three-year probation. According to court records, the above charges were dismissed and expunged.
In the 2018 season, Hill got a career-high of 1,479 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. His speed was one of the Chiefs' sharpest weapons, leading to rumors that the team would offer him a bigger contract than the five-year, 90-million-U.S.-dollar one enjoyed by Odell Beckham Jr. of the Cleveland Browns.
However, the Chiefs and Hill might have to wait for the result of the investigation before discussing anything about his future career.
