Canadian stock market closes up

TORONTO, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Canada's main stock market closed up Friday.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's SP/TSX Composite Index Rose 52.80 points, or 0.33 percent, to close the day at 16,140.35 points.

On the market, a total of 123 issues Rose while 110 fell. There were 14 new highs and three new lows, with total volume of 635.5 million shares.

Nine of the index's 11 major sectors were up.

The energy group fell 0.71 points, or 0.4 percent, while the financial sector. climbed 2.22 points, or 0.7 percent.

The health care group was biggest gainer, which Rose 2.3 percent.

Aurora Cannabis Inc. jumped 7.63 percent while Knight Therapeutics Inc. added 6 percent.

Bank of Montreal Rose 1 percent while Royal Bank of Canada edged up 0.9 percent.
