Over a dozen Chinese films to premiere at Houston film festival
HOUSTON, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Fifteen CHINESE feature Films along with several short subjects will premiere next month at the 52nd WorldFest in Houston, U.S. state of Texas, one of the Film festival organizers told Xinhua Friday.
Ling Zhang, who is in charge of WorldFest Focus on China, said that the 52nd WorldFest-Houston International Film Video Festival will kick off on April 5 with a grand opening ceremony.
"As a part of the Film festival, the 5th WorldFest Focus on China will bring premieres of 15 CHINESE feature Films along with several CHINESE short subjects, providing a window of the emerging CHINESE Film production for American audiences," Zhang said.
Ten major categories of competition, including features, shorts, as well as documentaries and student project, will be showcased during the nine-day Film festival.
WorldFest is one of the oldest Film festivals in the world, founded in 1961 as a Film society. It has become the third competitive international Film festival in North America, following San Francisco and New York.
As one of the oldest independent Film video festivals in the world, WorldFest has discovered a long list of famous persons such as Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and Ang Lee.
WorldFest received over 4,500 category entries from 74 nations and regions across the world in 2018.
