Dollar stays in upper 111 yen amid higher U.S. bond gains
Tokyo, March 15 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar remained in the upper 111 yen zone in Tokyo on Friday as market players reacted positively to an overnight rise in the U.S. Treasury yields.
At 5:00 p.m. local time, the dollar was quoted at 111.65-66 yen compared with 111.65-75 yen in New York and 111.59-60 yen in Tokyo at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. It moved between 111.49 yen and 111.90 yen during the day, changing hands most frequently at 111.86 yen.
The euro fetched 1.1325-1326 dollars and 126.45-49 yen against 1.1298-1308 dollars and 126.21-31 yen in New York and 1.1323-1324 dollars and 126.36-40 yen in Tokyo late Thursday afternoon.
