F1 race director Whiting dies of pulmonary embolism
Formula One race director Charlie Whiting, a key figure in the sport, has died three days before the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, the governing FIA said in a statement on Thursday.
It said the Briton died in Melbourne as a result of a pulmonary embolism. He was 66.
