Albania's unemployment rate slightly up in Q4

TIRANA, March 11 (Xinhua) -- Albania's unemployment rate slightly increased to 12.3 percent in the fourth quarter of 2018 from 12.2 percent the previous quarter, data released by the National Statistics Institute (INSTAT) on Monday showed.

But on yearly basis, the unemployment rate in the fourth quarter of 2018 decreased by 1.1 percent.

In this period, the official unemployment rate for women was lower by 0.6 percent compared to men, with 12.5 percent for men and 11.9 percent for women.

The official youth unemployment rate in Albania in this period was 22.3 percent, down by 2.3 percent year on year.

Moreover, according to INSTAT, the unemployment rate for the population aged 30 to 64 was 9.2 percent, down by 1.3 percent on year, but up by 0.3 percent on quarter.
