Palestinian died of wounds by Israeli soldier
GAZA, March 11 (Xinhua) -- The Palestinian Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip announced the death of a Palestinian on Monday from wounds sustained last month by the Israeli army.
"Bassam Sami Osman Safi, 22, died of wounds sustained on February 22 by the Israeli army in the east of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip during the weekly protests," the Ministry Spokesman Ashraf al-Qidra said.
The Great Marches of Return, organized by the High Commission for Return and Breaking the Siege, are aimed at lifting the Israeli blockade of the territory since 2007 and the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their lands.
More than 260 Palestinians were killed by Israeli soldiers and more than 29,000 others wounded since the start of the protests on March 30, 2018 along the border with Israel, according to the Health Ministry in Gaza.
