DPRK's vice foreign minister leaves for Russia visit
Im Chon Il, vice foreign minister of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), departed for Russia on Monday for vice foreign ministerial talks between the two countries, Pyongyang's state media reported.
Im will also take part in events marking the 70th anniversary of the signing of a bilateral agreement on economic and cultural cooperation, the Korean Central News Agency said.
DPRK's Foreign MinisterRi Yong Ho paid a visit to Russia in April 2018, while his Russian counterpartSergei Lavrov traveled to Pyongyang in late May.
Last week, Moscow confirmed that DPRK leader Kim Jong Un will visit Russia.
"Such a visit is indeed on the agenda," said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian president. "We hope that the precise date and venue will be determined via diplomatic channels within the foreseeable future."
The announcement came after a between the DPRK leader and U.S. President Donald Trump in Hanoi at the end of February.
