German shares edge down Friday
FRANKFURT, March 8 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged down on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index down 59.96 points, or 0.52 percent, to close at 11,457.84 points.
Industrial giant Thyssenkrupp lost 2.58 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer and sportswear and equipment maker Adidas, which lost both 2.32 percent.
Global internet technology and financial services provider Wirecard gained 5.23 percent, becoming the top gainer. Housing association Vonovia and pharmaceutical company Merck advanced 2.52 percent and 2.03 percent respectively.
Adidas was the most traded share with a turnover of 249.0 million euros (278.8 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
