Tokyo stocks drop in morning on concerns over eurozone growth outlook

Tokyo, March 8 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks dropped Friday morning, following a decline on Wall Street overnight after the European Central Bank lowered its growth outlook for the eurozone a day earlier.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 313.26 points, or 1.46 percent, from Thursday to 21,142.75.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, fell 20.69 points, or 1.29 percent, at 1,580.97.

Marine transportation, insurance and securities house-oriented issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
