Dollar remains in upper 111 yen before European Central Bank meeting

Tokyo, March 7 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar stayed in the upper 111 yen zone in Tokyo on Thursday as market players remained cautious before the European Central Bank meeting.

At 5 p.m., the dollar was quoted at 111.78-79 yen compared with 111.73-83 yen in New York and 111.78-80 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. It moved between 111.58 yen and 111.79 yen during the day.

The euro fetched 1.1307-1308 dollars and 126.39-43 yen against 1.1303-1313 dollars and 126.32-42 yen in New York and 1.1301-1302 dollars and 126.33-37 yen in Tokyo late Wednesday afternoon.
