Road crash kills 3 in U.S. state of Kansas
WASHINGTON, March 6 (Xinhua) -- A truck and a sedan crashed in the state of Kansas, killing three, police said Wednesday.
The accident took place in northeast Wichita, Kansas' largest city, Kansas State Trooper Chad Crittenden said. A northbound truck and a westbound sedan crashed at an intersection and both vehicles caught fire.
All three passengers in the sedan, a Ford Fusion, were announced dead at the scene, while the truck driver was taken to hospital.
Kansas highway patrol is investigating the accident. According to photos of the crash site, the roads were straight and flat, and there was no object that hindered the sight of drivers crossing the intersection. There is a stop sign for northbound vehicles, but there are none for westbound ones.
