2 Palestinians injured, 11 detained in Israeli raids across West Bank: sources
RAMALLAH, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Two Palestinians were wounded on Wednesday by Israeli gunfire during Israeli raids in the town of Halhoul north of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, security sources said.
One of them was critically injured during the clashes between Israeli soldiers and Palestinian residents of Halhoul, the sources said on condition of anonymity.
Dozens suffered suffocation after inhaling Israeli army's tear gas, they added.
According to the sources, Israeli soldiers fired live and rubber gunshots at the Palestinian demonstrators when an Israeli army force stormed the town.
The Israeli army force also arrested 11 Palestinians during raids on towns and villages all over the West Bank.
Meanwhile, an Israeli army spokesman said in a press statement that the 11 Palestinians are wanted for their involvement in violent actions, adding that a machine gun and ammunition were found during the raids in the city of Nablus.
The Israeli army carries out daily raids and arrests of Palestinians in the West Bank, saying they are wanted for violence against Israelis.
